Mr MARK COURE (Oatley Minister for Multiculturalism, and Minister for Seniors)
——I congratulate and to thank a member of my local area, Prakash Chhetri, for his fantastic contributions to our sporting community. Prakash provides martial arts training to children throughout our local area, working alongside them to improve their discipline in school and at home. Prakash was awarded a 2021 St George Community Group Award for these fantastic efforts. Prakash now runs three Taekwondo training centres in Sydney, which is an excellent achievement by any merit, and a fantastic contribution to our local sporting community. During the recent COVID-19 lockdown, Mr Chhetri continued to serve our community by providing online sessions for both adults and children. This was in order to maintain fitness levels and improve mental health during a period which was so difficult for all of us. I commend him on his high-spirits and commitment during this time. Speaker, I believe that local sport has always truly been the backbone of the St George region, and it is wonderful to see such a talented role model training the next generation of Taekwondo players within our area. I once again congratulate Prakash for receiving this award, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

I am proud to write a recommendation for Prakash. I have been associated with Prakash for approximately 6 years and have observed him to be a highly competent and dedicated professional. Prakash proved instrumental in facilitating the logistical movements of several of my security missions throughout the Middle East. Additionally, he personally trained several team members in unarmed self defense techniques, specific to our security mission. Prakash possesses a professional demeanour and he is able to quickly and accurately assess a situation and make the best decisions possible. He is an outstanding teacher and technician and it is with great pride that I recommend him.
